As part of community day we are asking our fairgoers to:
Pack your grocery bags and bring them to the Dakota County Fair to contribute to a community effort to support local food shelves.
The Dakota County Fair, running from August 5th through August 11th, is a unique opportunity to help fill a critical need in the fight against hunger in your community. 360 Communities and the Dakota Agricultural Society need your help to collect brown paper bags for Dakota County food shelves. 360 Communities has the most extensive food shelf
network in Dakota County, with sites in Apple Valley, Burnsville, Farmington, Lakeville, and Rosemount. The network uses about 10,000 paper bags annually and often runs short. Your donations will make a difference for food shelf shoppers.
Donating your bags is easy! You can drop them off in the bright yellow tubs stationed at the admission gates and the main Fair office at Ahlberg Hall at the Dakota County Fairgrounds in Farmington, MN, at 4008 220th Street W.
Dakota County Fair hours are as follows:
Opening Day, Monday, August 5th, Noon to 10 pm;
Tuesday - Saturday, August 6th - 10th, 8 am to 10 pm
Sunday, August 11th, 8 am to 5 pm.
